Lesson 21. Controlling Sprites with Lingo > Increasing the Arm Speed

Increasing the Arm Speed

Everything is working pretty well, but the speed of the robot arm's movement seems a little slow. You can't make the arm move faster by changing the movie tempo because that controls the rate at which the playback head moves from frame to frame. Because the rate at which the arm is moved is determined by Lingo, and the arm's position is updated whenever the updateStage command is executed, the movement is independent of the tempo rate.

In this task, you will edit the MoveArmUp and MoveArmDown handlers to increase the arm's speed by subtracting and adding a greater number of pixels to its locH and locV values. (Currently, the arm moves 1 pixel at a time.)
