Lesson 5. Adding Interactivity > Adding Markers for Navigation

Adding Markers for Navigation

Now that you know several ways of sequencing the media for a Director movie, it's time to move on to the last two steps of the four-step process described in Lesson 1: adding interactivity to a movie and creating a projector—a way of packaging the movie for distribution. In this task, you begin to create the interaction that allows users to navigate to different parts of the movie. So far, you've created linear movies only—they play from start to end without any user interaction. With interactivity, you can provide a way for users to control how they view a movie.

In the following steps, you will begin to add interactivity by identifying the frame that the playback head branches to when users click the Credits button. You'll also identify the frame to which the playback head should return after the Credits screen has been displayed. Once you've identified the frames in the score, you'll write Lingo scripts that will make the branching happen when the movie plays.
