Chapter 17. Scripting Lingo > Using Lingo for Animated Cursors

Using Lingo for Animated Cursors

You use Lingo to animate cursor cast members (which are covered in Chapter 4, "Animating Sprites" ).

To write a script that activates an animated cursor:

1.
Create an animated cursor.

(For details, see Chapter 4, "Animating Sprites." )

2.
In the part of a script where you want to activate the animated cursor, add the following statement:

cursor (member "MyAnimatedCursor")

Substitute your cursor's cast member number or name for MyAnimatedCursor.

You could attach the following behavior script to a sprite to activate the cursor when the sprite is clicked (Figure 17.56):

on mouseDown
   cursor (member "runner")
end

3.
Turn off the animated cursor by including the following Lingo statement in a script:

cursor –1
