Chapter 17. Scripting Lingo > Understanding Lingo Elements

Understanding Lingo Elements

You've learned that Lingo scripts are composed of handlers. Now you're ready to learn about the content of handlers.

A handler is composed of a combination of Lingo elements, which form the statements that you want to be executed when the handler is triggered. Like any other programming language, Lingo has rules about how you can use Lingo elements to produce valid statements. By working through the scripts in this chapter, you should get a good feel for the language structure (which is fairly simple, as programming languages go).
