Understanding Handlers, Messages, and Events

The basic building block of Lingo scripts is the handler, which is triggered to run by a specific event during the playback of your movie (Figure 17.23) (technically, a handler is triggered by a message generated by the specific event, see "Events and Messages" below). A Lingo script is composed of one or more handlers.
