Writing Scripts

Before you learn the technical details about how Director processes scripts, as well as their hierarchy, you need to learn the basics of writing scripts. Lingo scripts are written in script windows, which you can open in Director in several ways. How you open a script window is important, because it determines the type of script the window will contain. A script window's type is indicated in its title bar (Figure 17.8).
