Tactics for Limited Color Displays

People working with the tightest constraints—those creating movies for displays limited to 8-bit color or less—must learn how to juggle color palettes as described in this section. People using previous versions of Director had to learn the tricky art of managing color palettes. Now it's a more arcane art, though not quite so outdated as alchemy.

The tasks in this section apply only when you create movies with 8-bit or less color depth. When you develop a movie of 16-bit (or greater) color depth, your color choices are not constrained in the same way, and the color-management issues in this section do not apply.
