Chapter 14. Making Movies for the Web > Converting Multiple Movies

Converting Multiple Movies

If you have multiple Director movies and casts to save as Shockwave files, you can batch-process them instead of opening and saving each one individually. You have the option of converting the files while preserving the originals or converting the files and throwing away the original files. Note that this process will not create the HTML file for a Shockwave movie, as the Publish command does.

To batch-convert files while preserving the originals:

1.
Choose Xtras > Update Movies.

The Update Movies Options dialog box opens.

2.
Choose the Convert to Shockwave Movie(s) option (Figure 14.55).

3.
Choose Back Up into Folder to set aside the original movie and cast files in a safe place (Figure 14.56).

8.
Click Add.

The file's name goes into the list in the bottom half of the dialog box.

9.
One by one, select the other files to convert to Shockwave and click Add after each selection.

Click Add All to add all the files in the current folder to the list.
