About the Stage and Toolbar

The Director stage (Figure 1.5) serves as the window to the visual elements of a Director movie. Naturally, the stage is empty when you first open the program; it's your blank slate, awaiting your decisions about what to include in the movie.

Figure 1.5. The stage opens empty when you first launch Director. The stage is where you arrange visual elements of your movie while authoring. It also defines the area that your users will see during playback.
