Chapter 13. Creating a Projector > Protecting Movie Files

Protecting Movie Files

You can protect external movie and cast files from being opened and edited in Director. When you create a projector file that launches other movies or calls on external casts that are not incorporated into the projector file, you may want to protect those accessible files.

Keep in mind that protecting the external files prevents users from tampering with them, but it does not compress the data into a smaller package. If you need to compress the external files as well as protect them, see the instructions for converting multiple movies and casts to Shockwave movies in Chapter 14, Making Movies for the Web.
