Importing Digital Video

Director allows you to import QuickTime and Windows AVI movies (Figure 10.1). Because a video file can be large, Director always imports it as a linked external file rather than embedding it internally; this helps limit movie size. Consequently, it's important to keep your video files in a constant location relative to your Director movie. Otherwise, if the location changes and the links aren't updated, the video won't play. When you distribute your movie, you must provide all video files—or current Web links from which they can be downloaded—along with it.
