Chapter 12. the map > the overall map

the overall map

The map is actually much larger than it looks. If your map elements grow so numerous that you can no longer see them all in the map at once, you can show the entire map by viewing the OverAll map. The OverAll map is solely intended to help you keep track of your site—you can't publish the OverAll map. To show the OverAll map, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Map > OverAll > Show. The OverAll map appears in a floating window (figure 12-6). The map elements are so small you can barely see them. It's as if you're looking at the map from very far away. You can tell which page icon has focus (is displayed in the page area) because it is the one glowing yellow.

  2. Click anywhere in the OverAll map. You'll notice that the map area moves to the region where you point. Click on the map elements in the OverAll map to return the focus to them so that they show in the normal map.

  3. Resize the OverAll map just as you would any window, by clicking and dragging its edges.

  4. Dock the OverAll map by double-clicking its active window ribbon, the strip right below its title bar, near the top of the OverAll map window. (To make it float again, double-click it again.)
