Images Can Be Links, Too 104 Webmaster Wisdom The <AREA> tag's SHAPE attribute also accepts the values CIRCLE (for, duh, a circle) and POLY (for a polygon). For a circle, the COORDS attribute takes three values: the x coordinate of the circle's center point, the y coordinate of the center point, and the radius of the circle. For a polygon, the COORDS attribute takes three or more sets of coordinates. The browser determines the area by joining a line from one coordinate to the other.
