Chapter 25. Online Banking > Using the Internet for Your Banking Needs

Using the Internet for Your Banking Needs

An online bank is one that enables you to perform some or all of your normal banking tasks with your personal computer, over the Internet. Online banking is convenient, as you don’t have to drive all the way to the nearest teller window to transfer funds, find out account balances, and pay your bills. All these activities and more can be done online; you’ll still need to visit the bank (or an ATM) to make deposits and withdrawals, however.

Tip

Many banks also let you apply for loans online; see Chapter 26, “Online Loans,” for more information.
