DSL

DSL is a phone line-based technology that, unlike ISDN, doesn’t require a dedicated line. DSL service piggybacks onto your existing phone line, and essentially turns traditional phone lines into high-speed digital connections.

Most providers offer DSL service for a flat fee of $40–$50 per month, which includes standard ISP service. This gives you a high-speed broadband connection for about what you would pay for a second phone line and a subscription to a traditional ISP.
