ISDN

ISDN is a high-speed digital telephone line that utilizes two 64Kbps channels. You can use the channels for two separate lines (one for data, one for voice) or combine them into a single 128Kbps data channel.

The good thing about ISDN is that it’s available in most (but not all) areas of the United States; it’s available in many rural areas that have yet to offer DSL service. Of course, to connect to the Internet via ISDN, you have to subscribe to an ISP that offers ISDN service—and not all do.
