Troubleshooting

The biggest bottleneck to acceptable streaming media playback is your Internet connection. Quite frankly, streaming media is problematic over a standard dial-up connection. To ensure the highest-quality uninterrupted streaming media performance, you really need a broadband Internet connection, such as that available from a DSL or cable modem.

If you find that streaming files are taking a long time to start playing back, you can adjust the buffer in your media player program. Configuring a smaller buffer will tell the player to download fewer data packets before it begins playback.
