Chapter 4. Organizing Your Day > Seeing the Big Picture

Seeing the Big Picture

You used your weekly and your daily organization. You created and organized your tasks and appointments. Now, like a general looking over the field of battle, you need to see the big picture before you get down to work. Being able to see an overview of what’s in front of you—your tasks, your appointments, and your e-mails—can help keep you focused during the day.

An easy way to do this is with Microsoft Outlook Today, as shown in Figure 4-8. When you click Outlook Today on the Outlook bar, you see your calendar and tasks. You can open individual calendar or task items by clicking them, or complete a task by clicking the check box to the left of it. You can also see how many messages are in your e-mail folders, and click any of them to open the appropriate folder.
