Setting Up Conferencing

Before you can use a conferencing program, you must supply it with a little information. The first time you start NetMeeting, it launches a setup wizard to collect this information from you. Just work your way through the steps to configure NetMeeting, as shown in the following To Do.

To Do: Set Up NetMeeting

  1. Open NetMeeting by choosing Programs, Internet Explorer, NetMeeting or Programs, NetMeeting, depending on your system and your version of NetMeeting (Figure 17.2).

  2. Click Next (Figure 17.3).

  3. Leave the check box labeled Log on to a directory server when NetMeeting starts checked, and leave the list labeled What directory server you would like to use? set to uls.microsoft.com. (You can change both options later if you need to.) Then click Next (Figure 17.4).

  4. Type the information that you want to have listed in the directory (where others can look you up to contact you), and then click Next (Figure 17.5).
