Q&A

Q1:You said in Hour 5 that because Web pages may go away or change their addresses, links and URLs can fall out of date and not work anymore. Will that happen to my bookmarks or favorites?
A1: Sure, eventually any bookmark or favorite can go bad, if the page to which it points moves or is deleted. One hedge against that is to point them to a site address or a "top" page from which you can then use a link or two to get to a particular page. Specific pages on a server come and go often, but that top page generally stays put.

Netscape Navigator versions 4 and higher can check your bookmarks and optionally fix any that have fallen out of date. In the dialog used for editing bookmarks (Communicator, Bookmarks, Edit Bookmarks), choose View, Update Bookmarks.
