2. Get a Degree or Professional Training

Yes, you can get a fully accredited college degree online—in many cases, from the same major colleges and universities that offer the regular kind of degree. In addition to degrees, you can get many other kinds of training online, such as training for various kinds of non-degree certificates. Distance learning. The name for a range of different methods for educating people dispersed across distances instead of grouped together in a classroom. The term includes training delivered by television, but also two kinds of Internet-delivered training: asynchronous and synchronous. In asynchronous distance learning (the most common type), you study online whenever it's convenient for you—even at 3:00 a.m., if that's when you have the time. In synchronous distance learning, you must be online at scheduled class times, and can interact "live" with your instructor and other classmates.
