Chapter 7. YAHOO!

Founded in 1995, Yahoo has survived many changes. Starting out as a directory service, Yahoo maintained a staff to build and categorize its database. As the Internet grew, Yahoo used Google's database to supplement results from its own directory and developed an improved search engine, Yahoo! Search Technology, that rivals Google's and indexes some 3 billion pages.
