Browsers

A browser is a client program to let your computer read hypertext documents on the Internet. Hypertext is text with hyperlinks. When an interactive browser views hypertext, certain words are highlighted with underlining and color. Clicking on the hypertext link will lead you to that Web page. A browser can be text- or graphics-based. Different browsers can have different limitations and capabilities. There are text-based browsers able to read only text files, not images or multimedia, as well as other specialized browsers.

Examples of the more common, generally used browsers include the following: Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE), Netscape, Mozilla, Opera, and iRider.
