Unfortunately, honest merchants and dealers aren't the only people who view the Web as a golden opportunity. So do the crooks. With that in mind, here are some scams to be aware of so that you don't get taken. It is better to avoid fraud than to try and take effective action after the fact.

Nondelivery

This is arguably one of the most common online frauds, particularly at person-to-person marketplaces. Because it is customary for buyers to pay for their items before they are shipped, there's always a chance the seller could take your money and disappear.
