When Capturing or Creating a Movie, I Get a “Scratch Disk Is Full” or “Disk Is Full” Error

The scratch disk is where Premiere’s Source files, video previews, and audio previews are kept. By default, Premiere designates the scratch disk for all three as “Same as Application,” which means the hard drive where Premiere is installed is the scratch disk. Depending on how big your computer’s hard drive is and what else you have installed on it, your scratch disk space may be limited, meaning you will be unable to perform certain tasks such as capturing of large files. If you use an external IEEE-1394 high-capacity drive, or another internal IDE drive, they can serve as scratch disks while leaving ample room for captured video and audio media.
