Playback is Choppy

Playback is Choppy

Your effects finish rendering, but playback looks rough—scenes jump, stop suddenly, play back at different rates, and video continues to struggle while audio barrels forward on its own. Why? Depending on Premiere’s settings, it could be attempting to play back video on both the computer and the DV device. The quick fix is to try setting Premiere to play back only through your DV device and not your computer.

The other thing to remember is that Premiere’s Monitor window needs to be on the monitor driven by your AGP video card, in a multimonitor setup. Also, close the Mixer window and, if you can, keep it on the AGP driven display.
