The Timeline Window

This is the most important window in Premiere. The Timeline window tells you how long your project is, how many tracks (sources of video and audio) you are working with, and what is transitioning where. The Timeline window also tells you what audio or visual effects are in place with which clips. It’s where the project is compiled and created, where clips are overlapped and joined by transitions, and where video and audio tracks are added and deleted. It all happens here in the Timeline window.

Although it may look intimidating, the Timeline window really is a piece of cake to master. Incorporating video and audio into the timeline is as simple as clicking and dragging. It’s really that simple.
