Adobe Af ter Ef fects–One Step Beyond

Adobe Af ter Ef fects–One Step Beyond

Adobe After Effects is considered by many to be an essential postproduction tool, even though you can still create good work without it. After Effects (AE) provides many options not currently available in Premiere. One of AE’s biggest strong points is its masking tools. The masking tools allow you to cut out parts of an image using splines, like those in Illustrator and Photoshop. AE can also create basic scaling, rotation, and position moves using spline paths. Rather than going from start to finish in a straight line, AE lets you do moves based on a path that can be curved. This makes for smoother and more interesting animation of images. AE can also be used to work with hundreds of filters, from blurs to light flares, 3-D text, lighting effects, and almost anything else you can imagine. AE is used everywhere, including Hollywood effects houses.

It is not an essential application for your editing setup, but it can take your work to a whole new level.
