FX: Visual Delights in Adobe Premiere 6.5

Take a look at your video footage. How do subjects and surroundings appear? Do you notice a yellow or green hue to the people you’re shooting? No need to worry. Your friends have not been replaced by the Pod People ala Invasion of the Body Snatchers, nor is there anything wrong with your camera. A cause for odd coloration of your subjects could be the light coming from environmental sources. If it is indoors, a yellow or green discoloration could be caused from fluorescent lights, table lamps, or candles providing illumination. If you are filming outdoors and your subjects appear washed out, it could be caused by glare coming from the sun. This kind of discoloration can be easily compensated for or corrected in Premiere 6.5 along the same lines as you would color correct images in Adobe’s Photoshop 7.

If you have never worked with Photoshop, prepare yourself for a crash course in working with levels.
