Chapter 13. Saving Your Work

Chapter 13. Saving Your Work

Obviously, saving and backing up your Avid work are important processes, as they are with any software you use. Avid Xpress Pro makes saving and backing up your work easy and even effortless with some of its auto-save features. Avid Xpress Pro even makes it easy to move from one Avid system to another. This allows you to offline a sequence on a system like Avid Xpress Pro and online or finish a sequence on an Avid Media Composer or Symphony. Avid’s entire family of products communicate well together and make moving and managing media from one system to the next easy. In certain instances, such as using Avid’s Unity storage solution, this process is seamless.

There are basically two methods of saving—an explicit save triggered by you or an auto-save, triggered by the software. To save your work, choose Save from the File menu or press Command+S (Macintosh) or Control+S (Windows).
