Part 2. How to Use Nero 5 > Burning Your Audio Data Files

Burning Your Audio Data Files

Begin a new compilation and select Audio CD.

Fill in the CD text information.

Finally, click New.

Click the folder that holds your music files and select your tracks.

INTRODUCTION

So far you've compiled an audio CD from other CDs and seen the advantage of first extracting the files and moving them to the hard drive. You've also explored the database feature and found that it helped name your audio data files by using the field entries, or perhaps you've just renamed the files in your own music folders. Now you're ready to use and reuse them.

HINT

Hold down the Ctrl key as you select individual tracks or the Shift key as you select consecutive tracks.

Drag and drop the selected files into the new audio CD compilation. (Notice how much faster it is now that they're on your hard drive!)

Click Play to preview the tracks. Check the status bar to see that you have not exceeded CD capacity.

Click the Write CD button.

Set your speed and other options, and click Write. (If you have not disabled the wizard, it will pop up. To burn with the wizard, click Wizard.)

Click OK for a successful burn.

Click Save if you'd like to save the burn process messages.

Click Discard to close the window and eject your new disc.
