Part 2. How to Use Nero 5 > Creating Image Files

Creating Image Files

From the main Nero screen, click Recorder, Choose Recorder.

Click OK.

INTRODUCTION

Image files allow you to easily re-create a disk. If you like this idea of having image files available to reburn specific blocks of music or data, here's how to create them from scratch.

HINT

Image files will be huge. If you're used to filling up a CD (or a DVD), they'll be up to 700MB (or 4.7GB) in size. Use smart names—if you use Image1, Image2, and so on, you may not remember what's in that glob of digital data. (See the next task for a solution.)

Select and then drag and drop your audio or data tracks to create a compilation.

Click the Write CD button. (If it's grayed out, be sure you are in the compilation panel by clicking it.)

Unless you have specific recording needs, click Write.

Choose a folder in which you want the image to be saved.

Give the image a name.

Select a file type. (The default image format for Nero is *.NRG.)

Click Save to create an image file of your compilation on your hard drive.
