Part 2. How to Use Nero 5 > Using Copy CD

Using Copy CD

Open a new project and select CD Copy.

Under the Copy Options tab, select your source CD.

Click Copy to continue. Nero creates a temporary image file of the contents of the disc.

INTRODUCTION

Nero has a special setting, CD Copy, that facilitates copying discs, but it will work only with CDs and DVDs that are not copy-protected. If you have only one CD or DVD recorder, CD Copy will let you copy your files to a temporary directory on the hard drive first.

TIP

If you have a single CD recorder, using the wizard will lead you through the process of saving an image file and burning it afterward.

HINT

With an audio CD, if the database opens, click Cancel (or make any entries you like).

Put in the destination disc that will accept the copied data, and let copying proceed. If you have two CD (or DVD) recordable drives in your system, click to make one the source drive and the other the destination drive.

You can also click Wizard to use the wizard.

If you have kept the wizard enabled, you get a CD copy option, and then a Fast Copy setting if you have two recorders.
