Splitting Extracted Videos

Check the length of a clip by dragging its jog bar to the end.

Drag back to a spot between two extracted portions. Click Split Video.

You might have to drag back through the Video Strip to locate the two new segments split from the original.

INTRODUCTION

The beauty of extracted videos is that you can now split them up to move portions to different parts of the Video Strip.

Click the shorter of the split videos to put it into the Preview window. Notice that your edits are intact.

Click the split video with multiple extractions to put it into the Preview window. Notice that your edits are intact.

TIP

Split Video becomes available only with an extracted video in the Preview window.

When you move split videos along the Video Strip, they can be relocated individually in new positions. Depending on where you split them, you should be able to re-edit (trim) the in and out points.

Drag between the extracted portions and notice that Split Video is active.

Click Split Video to split them again.
