Part 6. Creating a DVD Interface

At this point, we've acquired our video and still images and assembled them on our Video Strip in the order in which they would play consecutively without any menus. However, you probably will want to present the viewer with some choice as to what to see first—and which content to view.

A Hollywood movie DVD is usually one main title (the entire movie), but there are menus that let you skip directly to selected chapters (parts of the film—or main title). In the beginning, a main menu usually lets you choose to watch the movie, go directly to specific scenes, see some outtakes, or watch an interview with the director. In DVD terms, these are other titles, with the movie itself—again—being the main title.
