Choosing and Organizing Chapters and Segments

Drag the jog bar to see that this is a two-minute movie with several distinct segments.

Choose Extract Video to open the Extract Video screen.

Define four sections of a clip with separate in and out points.

INTRODUCTION

Although many of our vacation clips are short enough to be titles, one is a compendium of scenic locations for which I want to create chapters and possibly extract some portions.

Back on the Video Strip, move the jog bar between the extracted segments and click Split Video. This results in two separate segments in addition to the original.

Now you can drag and drop the most breathtaking segment to the first position and make it the First Play video.

Remember to adjust the in and out points.

For the original clip, click Add/Edit Chapter.

Click to play the clip through its various segments.

Click Add for five chapters.

Finally, reorganize the Video Strip by moving the photo album nearer to the front so that it will appear on the first menu in the final project.
