Our look is the result of reader comments, our own experimentation, and feedback from distribution channels. Distinctive covers complement our distinctive approach to technical topics, breathing personality and life into potentially dry subjects.

The object on the cover of Digital Video Hacks is a film clapboard, also known as a film slate. This small board is usually black and white, and contains sections for displaying information such as the title of the film, the director, the editor, scene/take numbers, and time information. At the top of this board sits the clapper, a hinged section that is clapped together at the start of each take to provide a sound cue that can be used during the editing process.

Philip Dangler was the production editor and proofreader for Digital Video Hacks. Nancy Reinhardt was the copyeditor. Marlowe Shaeffer and Darren Kelly provided quality control. Julie Hawks wrote the index.
