Many shows use multiple cameras at the same time to shoot a production, event, or performance. Depending on the type of event, you might see anywhere from 3 or 4 cameras up to 20 or more. Reality television shows can use an even larger number of cameras to follow individual characters over a period of time. Daytime programming, such as soap operas and prime-time sitcoms, have four or five cameras rolling at once. Even dramatic television shows shoot some scenes rolling A and B cameras at the same time.
