Chapter 6. Previewing and Finishing > Setting User Operations Controls

Setting User Operations Controls

As you build your DVD, you may want to impose some limits over what a viewer can and can't do with the DVD player's remote control. An example might be a timeline video that you really want a viewer to pay attention to—perhaps you've set up an important video for First Play and want to make sure the viewer can't skip over it or fast-forward through it. This is where Encore DVD's User Operations controls come in. You can embed controls into timelines, menus, and disc functions via the Properties palette. For a quick overview of the types of actions you can control through the User Operations settings, see the sidebar.
