After Effects and Encore DVD Menus

After Effects can be used to create single-layer video backgrounds for motion menus, or video content for timelines. It can also be used in combination with Encore DVD and Photoshop to create menus, and its greatest strength is its ability to work with the different layers in a menu and add animation to them. Any element in a menu can be animated in After Effects and used to create a motion menu. (More on the how-to's of motion menus in Chapter 9.)
