The workspace in Premiere Elements

All movies in Premiere Elements start as projects. A project is a single Premiere Elements file that combines everything you need to create a movie; including video, audio, effects, and titles. These assets are assembled on a timeline to create a final video. Additionally, within a project, there are 6 different workspaces: Capture, Edit, Effects, Titles, DVD, and Export. In this lesson you'll explore the various workspaces in Premiere Elements using the Task bar. Make sure you have copied the files used for Lesson 3 onto your hard drive. For help, see “Copying the Classroom in a Book files” on page 3.

Starting the Premiere Elements program

When you start the Premiere Elements program, a welcome screen appears. Any recent projects you have worked on will be visible in the center of the screen.
