Lesson 9. Creating a DVD > Getting started

Getting started

To begin, you'll launch Adobe Premiere Elements and open the Lesson09 project. Then you'll review a final version of the project you'll be creating.

Make sure you know the location of the files used in this lesson. If necessary, insert the Adobe Premiere Elements Classroom in a Book DVD and copy the Lesson09 folder to your hard drive. For help, see “Copying the Classroom in a Book files” on page 3.

Start Premiere Elements.

Click on Open Project. Navigate through your hard drive to locate the Lesson09 directory you copied to your hard disk. Select the file Lesson09_End.prel and click Open. This is a finished version of the project file you will be creating in this lesson. You may review it now or at any point during the lesson to get a sense of what your project should look like.

After reviewing the finished file, choose File > Close. Then choose File > Open Project and select the project file Lesson09_Start.prel and click Open.

Your project file opens with your Media, Monitor, and Timeline windows open. Choose Window > Restore Workspace > Edit to ensure your window layout is in the default editing mode.
