Using the Monitor Window's Time Ruler Controls

A time ruler in each view of the Monitor window provides another way to navigate through a clip or sequence (Figure 5.22). The full width of the ruler represents the entire length of the clip in the source view or the entire length of a sequence in the program view. Tick marks and numbers measure time using the unit of measure you specified in the project settings, although you can toggle the ruler to measure audio samples as well. The frame displayed in the view corresponds to a blue triangular marker in the ruler, called the current time indicator (CTI). Each time ruler also displays icons for its corresponding view's markers and In and Out points. You can move the current time, markers, and In and Out points by dragging the appropriate icon in the time ruler.
