Chapter 5. Viewing Clips in the Monitor Window

As its name implies, the Monitor window lets you see your footage much as you would on the video monitors in a traditional video editing suite or the screens on a flatbed film editing table. In fact, the Monitor window is modeled after an entire editing station, complete with editing controls to play back your clips and assemble them into a sequence. Not that the Monitor window merely emulates its predecessors—it has features and advantages you can find only in a digital, nonlinear editing program.
