Frame Rate

Frame rate refers to both the number of frames per second contained in a source clip and the number of frames per second displayed by the program or exported movie. The frame rate of source video is determined when it's recorded or rendered. When you capture DV footage, the footage's frame rate matches the project's timebase. Other media you import, however, may use a different frame rate. You can always select a footage item in the Project window to view its frame rate and other characteristics in the preview area at the top of the window (Figure 16.2).
