Chapter 8. Refining the Sequence > Using the Snapping Feature

Using the Snapping Feature

When you move clips in the timeline, you usually want to align them precisely. In a sequence of clips in a single track, alignment generally isn't a problem: You can easily drag clips to butt up against one another without overlaying another clip or leaving a gap. At times, however, aligning clips isn't as straightforward. You may want a title in video track 2 to start right after the clip in track 1 ends, for example. When you're placing a sound effect, you may want to align a marker in a video clip with a marker in an audio clip. Or you may want to move a clip to exactly where you placed the CTI.
