Chapter 11. Mixing Audio > Viewing Audio Data in the Timeline

Viewing Audio Data in the Timeline

In Chapter 7, “Editing in the Timeline,” you learned that you can view audio waveforms for clips in a track by expanding the track and setting its display style to Show Waveforms. An expanded audio track can also display other information, including controls for manipulating levels, panning, balancing, and effects. Each parameter's values appear as a graph, which you can keyframe; that is, you can specify values for particular points in time, thereby changing the graph and altering the values over time. You can view one graph at a time for individual clips in the track or for the entire track.
