Selecting an Automation Mode

Using the audio mixer is comparable to using a physical mixing console that can automate fade and pan adjustments. In other words, the audio mixer can record, or write, the adjustments you make as the sequence plays. Afterward, you can set the track to read, or play back, the adjustments you made—making the pan knobs and faders move as if controlled by some unseen hand. Alternatively, you can set the audio mixer to ignore the adjustments during playback, without deleting them.
