Creating Shape Objects

When you create a shape, you define its dimensions by defining the size of an invisible, rectangular box called a bounding box. Whereas a rectangle fits exactly inside its bounding box, other shapes are circumscribed within theirs. When you select a shape, its bounding box appears with six handles, small squares that you can grab and drag to change the dimensions of the box—and thereby the shape it contains.
