Chapter 15. Creating Output > Exporting an AAF File

Exporting an AAF File

AAF (Advanced Authoring Format) is a widely accepted file exchange format used to transfer both data (video and audio files) and metadata (such as edit-decision list information, including the use of dissolves and wipes). AAF helps you retain as much of your project as possible when transferring it from one system to another. However, be aware that the AAF features and data supported by one program may not always be supported by another program. If you plan to export your project using AAF, you should research (and, ideally, test) the process to maximize the data you can transfer and to prepare to re-create the data you can't transfer.
